CEO/Founder
G has 20 years of experience in land acquisition, land development, business development, and strategic planning. G enjoys being hands-on, from drawing plans to building homes.
G holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University, earned his CIP designation, excelled as a claim’s examiner, and later became a claim’s supervisor at one of the largest insurance companies in Canada. G led his claims team to be one of the best in Western Canada, specifically handling severe losses in property, bodily injury, liability, and fatality claims and estimating total fire losses, water damage, and catastrophic storm losses. He has worked on SIU files and negotiated claims via mediation with over 95% success rate.
Dan Leverett
Principal
Dan Leverett leads a team to create and maximize value in real estate investment opportunities for U.S. and International equity partners. He has a passion for place-making and creating places that enhance communities and change everyday lives. Dan has completed over $1.5 B (5 MSF) of mixed-use, commercial and residential projects.
His background in corporate and commercial real estate development spans over 35 years. It includes employment with notable companies such as ExxonMobil Corporation, Friendswood Development, The Woodlands Development Company, and Atwood Oceanics. During this time, he spent eight years overseas in international business.
He has had P&L responsibility for commercial operations and development of urban mixed-use, office, retail, hotel, and multi-family projects. Dan played critical roles in numerous award-winning developments. He currently serves as a professor of practice at Texas A&M University, teaching graduate programs in real estate development and finance.
Clay Martin
VP Acquisitions
Clay simply loves to build; people, teams, projects, and communities. His balanced engineering and entrepreneurial background gives him a unique perspective on our team and the ability to identify areas within our projects that may need extra focus.
A BCIT Engineering Alumni, he started his career as a Civil Estimator & Project Manager working on notable local projects such as Delta-Port and the Barnet Highway widening. An opportunity to delve into industrial estimating brought work on process piping at the LaFarge 9 Road Kiln in Richmond, BC, and then onto international Project Management with Preussag Noell building Liquified Natural Gas storage facilities in Trinidad and other locations. In 1998, Clay created and bootstrapped an HVAC company specializing in Geo- thermal and Air Source heat pump technologies to revenues of over $12M/yr at the time of sale in 2012.
Since then, Clay and his partner Johanna have been award-winning TOP TIER Realtors at Royal LePage Wolstencroft. They share our 'give first' philosophy donating to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation on every transaction. A lifetime martial artist Clay has also volunteered for more than fifteen years, teaching teens life skills and core values like focus, respect, and self-discipline through martial arts.
German Ochoa
Asset Manager
German has an MBA from UBC with specialization in Strategic Planning & Finance. He has led setting up international companies operating in the Latin American (LatAm) Market, also bringing overseas investors and businesses into the US, especially in the Real Estate market. He is passionate about technological innovation & business development, challenge driven, and focused on long-term results. German is an experienced public speaker, a team player, and a great networker that can create rapport and relationships in specified markets as needed. He likes to work hard, play hard, work in teams, and work with purpose. He loves to bring a standard of sustainability, environmental consciousness, and responsibility; finding balance with financial prosperity for all parties involved. German loves to provide outstanding analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills on any team he is a part of. When German doesn’t have the answer in how best to solve a specific problem, he will seek out the best person to assist him resolving the issue very quickly. He is an asset at evaluating and following through with private real estate investment deals in various locations around the world including throughout the Americas. German starts with target identification according to a client’s objectives, followed by helping them with presenting, evaluating, financing, and investment advising on diverse business opportunities. Identification of key drivers and critical risks in conjunction with financial modelling, German can highlight the best fit between investor and opportunity.
Richard Earles
Finance & Equity Manager
Richard is an experienced mortgage finance professional based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Richard previously worked as an underwriter and business development manager for one of the country's largest mortgage investment corporations. He was responsible for a 4x growth in portfolio size from the day he started working. Shortly after that, Richard opened his own alternative mortgage lending fund and brokerage in Toronto, where he managed and administered up to $100M of investor capital for mortgages on property in Ontario.
Richard owns and operates a successful mortgage brokerage in Vancouver with 20 sub-mortgage brokers under him, along with a team of underwriters and admin staff. Richard focuses on real estate development finance, land assembly, condo tower/townhouse development sites, mezzanine-type financing, purpose-built rental construction, and jumbo bridge loans. His extensive knowledge and experience in mortgage finance bring value and industry insight to Coal Harbour Project's management team.
Dave Montes
Development Associate
Dave holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of British Columbia. With a drive to learn and an eye for detail, Dave was given a rare opportunity to author original neuroscience research alongside his colleagues as an undergraduate student.
Dave brings experience from the construction industry in both trade and professional areas. Dave has most recently been involved with BCIT for training in quantity surveying and construction technology and at UBC Sauder School of Business.
When Dave has downtime, he looks to further his culinary training at home. Dave is a classically trained chef with success in private catering and the restaurant industry. Dave's skillset is diverse and he will never turn down an opportunity to learn and grow.
Isaac Arellano
Senior Underwriter
Isaac is a Senior Underwriter contributing to our group with expert skills in Commercial Real Estate investment and finance. He believes his expert analysis, combined with his 20 years of experience in Commercial Finance and Commercial Real Estate, will enhance any investment opportunity we bring to the table. With over 16 years underwriting commercial real estate deals as a freelancer, Isaac has helped his clients close over U.S. $20 billion of debt and equity transactions for the development, "value-add," and opportunistic acquisitions.
His passion and dedication to the Commercial Real Estate industry motivated him to publish training materials for keen individuals new to the commercial real estate market. Additionally, Isaac enjoys travelling.
